My Story

Nekayah “K A Y A H” Daily

I’ve often worked in the media arts as it relates to freelance photography and film. Operating under the name Kayah Visuals, I first established my photography company in 2016 through which I’ve accumulated a multitude of different projects, roles and opportunities. Since then, I’ve been able to gain a lot of experience in the still and motion picture industries. With my background in photography and film, I’ve enveloped myself in projects dealing with content creation. Additionally, as I’ve progressed in my freelancing career, I’ve broadened my experience to more public relations and advertising-based work. On the branding side, I’ve done consulting for multiple small brands in terms of startup duties. This includes, but isn’t limited to: website development, photography, advertising, and etc.

Although it’s contributed to my recent experiences, projects belonging to fashion and lifestyle have been added to my arsenal of expertise through my content creation efforts. On the basis of formal education, I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Redlands, I chose to study both Business Administration and Media & Visual Arts Culture Studies (Film) through which I was also given honors candidacy. Following my formal graduation in 2022– I pursued higher education at USC and am currently in the Public Relations & Advertising program in the Annenberg School for Communications.

2022 – Present : Brand Manager and Creative Director, Spiritually Motivated

– Established and managed all communicative platforms for the brand (i.e. linktree, Booksy, Twitter, and Instagram)
– Aided the event planning for the very first annual fundraiser, and helped reach out to celebrity prospects to help host the event as well as donate
– Creative directed multiple shoots
– Media trained the face of the non-profit

2022 – Present : Internal/ External Communications Consultant, Running Waters Community Integration Program

– Internal communications tactics personally initiated included: universal tele-communicative updates for ‘field’ employees, employee online portal, and wrote company-wide updates.
– Created the company website and set up the corporate email
– Handled emails and created original templates for email marketing

2022 : Influencer and PR Intern, CLD PR

– Talent scout for brand to influencer marketing and outreach, including utilizing effective research metrics
– Pitched advertising projects for clients intra-organizationally

2021 : Second Assistant Camera (AC), Women in Media

– Worked the slater/ clapper to call out each scene to every camera right before the director called ‘Action’
– Ensured that every “take” was documented via scene logging, all four cameras of the CO’s and DP’s had sufficient/
charged batteries (and their monitors), calibrated the forward focus, and even took memory cards to the editors when filled during production

2016 – Present : Photographer, (Creative) Director, Kayah Visuals

– Project collaborations spanning from magazines (Scortique), top brands (Bristol Studio, Bristol Studio X Adidas), upcoming artists (Londynn Sky | Speaking of Audacity podcast), and shoots for non-commercial clientele
– Photography was voted in top 1% of votes to be featured on the bottle cover for Jones Soda Co.
– Balanced both business-entrepreneurial and creative directing by doing project management, organizing/ planning shoots, negotiating for entertainment clientele, and brand marketing
– Regular use and mastery of programs such as: FinalCut Pro and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere)
