Ten Years in the Industry
At October’s Very Own; we value our team of artists, producers/ management and listeners who continue to follow us on this journey of making history. It’s been ten years since signing PARTNEXTDOOR (the very first artist to join) and it’s been such an honor to have him plus others who have come thereafter. In his time, he’s spanned from sold out tours to multiple Grammy nominations to name a few.
Second to join in 2014 was the R&B duo Majid Jordan with Majid Al Maskati and producer Jordan Ullman who have made four studio albums with OVO.
Following this duo, came the signing of DVSN in 2015– consisting of singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85. Latest in their discography of songs is their Working on my Karma (2022) album. Also taking place in the same year as the pair, Roy Woods came along as well and released his EP ‘Exis’ which included the Top 200 Billboard song Drama.
By 2018, Popcaan entered the label with a new flare and genre which was different from his predecessors. Mainly making Jamaican dancehall music, Popcaan has created a total of two albums since signing and made contributable features within the label. Reaching number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 for his collaboration with Drake– Smiley, the rapper was also signed in 2021 following Toronto buzz.
Being the latest and first woman, Naomi Sharon was added in January of 2023 and has already dropped an EP, Another Life.
Only including North America’s finest, OVO artists have created a unique sound for all to enjoy in whatever region around the world they’re from. Now seasoned as a label, it’s only natural that we grow continue to grow. Come live all your dreams out at OVO.
